Fix most “black screen” scares fast—grab the maintenance kit, check power and processor I/O, confirm sync, isolate a bad section, and swap the right data cable using your map.
Included with your screen is a maintenance kit. The kit includes a vacuum tool, power supplies, hub board, receiving card, along with various cables for your screen. We're gonna highlight the key parts and some symptoms so that you have a method and in order of what to try first if you're experiencing some issues. If your screen is not receiving signal or you just have a black image, there are a few things to check. One, first check the power. Ensure all your breakers are on, that your screen is connected to your junction box or outlets, and we just start at power for the first step of seeing if that is connected. Number two is check the output side of your processor and also the input side onto the screen. Make sure those cables, your data lines are connected and the processor is powered on. The third thing to check is sync between your processor and your LED screen. Ensure that the processor is seeing your LED screen. If it's not, there is a data connection issue that you'll need to check. It could be a bad cable or a bad termination and possibly just the cable not being seated fully into the port. If you have a specific cabinet or section of the screen that is not working, it could be that that one breaker has tripped or that one specific connection to your outlet or junction box wasn't terminated correctly. Go ahead and check power for that specific section. It could be that that cable has simply not been attached during the installation process. If everything is powered up and you have a specific section or a specific cabinet that is just showing a black area, go ahead and look at the data connection within the wall. You may need to take one of your spare data cables and insert it in place within the section of the wall that has experienced that issue. Be sure to reference your data flow mapping so you know which cable to swap out that interacts directly with the cabinet that may be experiencing no signal.
